Flower Cans

Little detail for you back yard summer decor. See below for step by step instructions.

1. You can use any type of can soup, chili what ever. Of course you would need to empty the can and rinse it out.
2. Peel off the paper on the outside and scrub at the seam where the glue is. If you can't get the glue off all the way thats ok because the paint will cover it up. Dry the can or let it sit and air dry either is fine.3. Spray paint the can an off white or cream color. Make sure to get the bottom and top edge.

4. While the paint is drying mix 1 tsp of brown paint with Tbsp of water or more don't dalute to much. Mix to the consistancy of stain.
5. Use a sponge brush and brush the daluted paint on one side brushing it horizontal around the can.

6. Useing a sock or part of a tary cloth towel wipe the brown paint around the can lightly leaving the brown paint streaky making sure to cover the can from top to bottom and the bottom of the can.

7. When your finished it should look like this.

8. Take a nail and hammer and make 5 holes in the bottom of the can for water to drain.
9. Next cute 2 1/2 to 3 feet piece of wire.

10. Wrap the wire around the top of the can taking the two ends and meeting on the other side twisting the wire 2 or 3 times tight against the can, then wraping the wire back to the other side and meeting the ends of the wires again and this time twisting 2 times tight against the can and then twisting the remaing wire loosley and bending it over the top of the can creating a handle. Finally taking the end of the wire and bending it and sccuring it to the can. (if you have problems just twist and scure what looks good and will keep the wire on the can.)

11. Should like this.

12. Depending on what you like you can use a Pansy, Marigold or Petunia to plant in your can. Take the flower out of the carton it came in breaking up the soil and roots and plant down into the can. Depending on the size of your can you may need to add soil. If the roots on the flower are to big break some off to fit into can if you are using a smaller can. It will be tight and you might need to push it into the can with your fingers making sure you don't damage the plant.

13. Finished :)
